Lovely blend you made! it has this kinda Mossy feel to it thanks to the filtered/cutted plucks
and the percussion work.. just WOW!
if this will be on the EP, im certain to buy it when youve released it man!
just to hear this peace of heaven in its full mix :)

BuggMusic responds:

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, with the new layout it's impossible to tell when someone has reviewed one of your songs.*

I had actually sort of given up on that project, but you've managed to inspire me to keep going! It could take a little while, but I'll be sure to let you know when it's done! Thanks :D

great re-edit tom!
(haven't heard the old version)
gonna check the original aswell.

tomdink responds:

Thanks dude, yeah not much has changed from the other, but this one is better since it is so much louder :D

(haven't heard the Benny rmx NOR original)

great guitar (first thing i noticed lol
awsome vocals aswell 2nd thing i noticed
awsome percs, yet could be more 'commercial' third thing i noticed.
are those violins around 3:20 ?? they sound.. chinese-kinda pretty cool.

-for some reason my ears are bleeding at the mid part between 2:19 - 2:22
and its probably the violin (i just asked about) + the vocals.
made me drop my rating by half a point.
(sorry, im just 1 big fat a-hole when it comes to those things but it keeps me sharp)

anyways, without hearing any other version of this song, its sounds awsome and relaxing, and
it reminds me of christmas..
also, happy new year!

I listened to that part you mentioned, couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary, so I can't really figure out what you were hearing, it might've been a reverse cymbal or something with a bit too much high end. Thanks for the review! :)

its a bit high (in frequency terms) on my ears, but the subtle delay plucks are darn good!
a bit more variation to the beats and some other additional effects would do a justice.
i might start a remix soon if im allowed to.

WizMystery responds:

I was stuck with maximus on this, now I have ozone and can do a better mastering job :O

Sure, you can remix it. I'll even send you the flp if you want it.

holy crap DAT organ :| its soo so lovely!!
i know i havent got allot to tell, compared to your review. that was just simple said; amazingly awsome!
but yea, i hope you may forgive me for just that.

i really like your clap or snare in the beginning and ending part or.. what is it exactly? did you layer a clap and snare or..? zomething else maybe. it also sounds like it can be a REAL snare instead.
and i like what u did with the mid part, its a little unnecessary if you look at the whole thing yet its very VERY usefull to what follows.
and thats a solid chillstep- techno vibe.
i'd say great job!

i have no further questions for you to be answered, you may go and explore.

tomdink responds:

Thank you for the permission of exploration :D Well the one snare is a sample that I raised the treble on a little bit, and then I added some reverb. Minor tweaks in the EQ go a long way in terms of quality, that's what I have begun to realize. I love Organs!!!!!!!!! :D

hmm
ill start off good; quality-wise, its pretty good. your melody is nice but, the variation inbetween all the goodies is really tiny.
i like the additional 'pluck' melody playing a backing part throughout the song.
i can hear you slightly 'change' the sound of your MAIN melody at the end part, you probably added an additional sound to your main leads i quess?
it takes away a little repetitive-ness lol but its too late.
you should of have added that extra a little earlier in the song.

now on to your kick, its pretty weak comparing to a 'standard' or 'normal' house track. depending on what track your listening.
i also cant hear MUCH (apart from the beginning and ending) of a house beat throughout, this song sounds like its made to be a trancy/dancy song. -breakbeat isnt house- NOR trance.

than again, the main melody sounds avicii -alike. (i dont like his music-personal taste) but i wont judge it in the scores bc its personal.

anyways, to be short and bored;
all in all a nice dancy track, that needs a boost in every corner.
simple said.

ForeverBound responds:

Gonna work hard on the melodies for sure also i don't know why but for some reason i keep finding troubles with the kick and this was the best i could get it ( or i should redo it al from scratch)

anyway thanks for your review mate :D

i dont feel this is a trance song of any kind..
like.. when listening to other trance songs i havent been in any 'trans' this time.
to me it rather sounds like a video-game-song. tho a rather good and long one.

Synthapse responds:

Thx for your advice. I tried to stay in the trance style but I'm still getting used to it.

i cant agree more with SJD.
tho i do agree at some pointers GK mentioned in his 2 star review..
your kickdrums could use some more depth in it, more bass is another thingy.
i do NOT agree it needs more highs... that would make it as unpleasant as GK said..

anyway, i like the use of your newer sounds in this song.
it is well composed, i hear pitching (which i really REALLY love)
i do have my wonders about a synth..
what sound did you use or what plugin to MAKE the pitching synth between 2:00 and 2:27
ive been looking or to create such a sound of my own but havent succeeded yet..
and now i heard a perfect sound in your song and just want to know :) if its okay with you..

anyhow. pleasant song till the end.

tomdink responds:

Yeah I will for sure work on the drums and such!!! (Thanks a ton for the good review :D) Yeah the pitching is really awesome to incorporate! Okay I will PM you in a minute, thanks my bro!

nice re-edit ;)
i really like the 'gate' effects you did throughout the song. gives it a 'fast phased' feel, like the song is even faster than it already is lol.
i can say anything bad really because everythings sounds spot on!

AeronMusic responds:

Yeah, I like fast paced techno songs. Thanks man!

extreme use of wrong black and white notes(spoken in theory) around 2:56. lovely man.
love the string and piano gives it a magnificent feel.
tho, the overall quality is lacking a bit imo. did you cut the 'kbps' down?

Indigorain responds:

No, it's not the kbps, I just had a hard time mixing this thing, because it's a rather old project, thus using old mixing techniques. Anyway, thanks for the kind words man, much appreciated!
